Congratulations to four students from the Laboratory of Systems Biology who defended their theses in June.
In the master's programme in Applied Physics and Data Science, Heleri Melles defended Studies of diffusion in cardiac muscle cells. Her work used fluorescence microscopy and raster image correlation spectroscopy to study diffusion in cardiomyocytes. Ralf Palmiste defended Mathematical Modelling of Caffeine Protocol in Cardiomyocytes, investigating calcium dynamics in cardiac muscle cells through mathematical modelling.
In the bachelor's programme in Applied Physics, Luisa Nuka defended 3D localization of calcium sparks in cardiomyocytes using single molecule localization microscopy. Mirtel Toming defended Mathematical modelling of calcium binding in solution.
